About the Treatment
The PPx System uses proprietary PPx technology. A hand piece is gently placed on the skin and in a fraction of a second, a vacuum gently draws the skin into the treatment tip bringing the targets such as hair follicles closer to the skin's surface. A painless light is applied which sends highly efficient photons to the target at four to five times the standard rate. As the hair follicles are closer to the light, a lower energy can be used, providing an overall safer, painless procedure that's extremely fast and effective. Number of Treatments Required
An initial consultation will be completed for all new patients to determine medical suitability of treatment. During the consultation, your medical history will be reviewed and an explanation of the possible side effects will be discussed. The consultation will take up to 30 minutes and is free of charge.
Typically, one treatment every eight weeks for a duration of 6 to 10 visits is needed in order to achieve optimal results. The exact number will vary depending on the area treated. An annual visit for a maintenance treatment is recommended after the series of 6 to 10 treatments are completed.
What to Avoid
Prior to undergoing treatments:
- Avoid indoor and outdoor tanning four weeks prior to treatment. Use sunscreen when outdoors.
- Avoid waxing or tweezing for 8 weeks prior to treatment.
- Avoid self tanning creams 1 week prior to treatment.
Who may not be a Candidate
The following patients may not be candidates for PPx treatments:
- Patients with light hair may not be candidates.
- Patients with certain medical conditions may not be candidates.
- Patients who are dark skinned or tanned.
After Care and Possible Side Effects
Unlike other treatments, the PPx system does not cause sensitivity to light. Treatments are relaxing and do not include side effects such as redness or other common post-treatment discomforts; patients can go right back to normal activities immediately after treatment.

BlU-U is dermatologist recommended for improving acne. BLU-U Light Therapy, cleared by the FDA in 2003 for the treatment of moderate inflammatory acne vulgaris, is an effective, pain free way to treat moderate acne. The blue light activates endogenous photosensitizers which inhibit the formation of acne by destroying P. acnes, the bacteria that is responsible for acne lesions.
About the Treatment
Treatments are simple. Problem areas are exposed to to the BLU-U light for approximately 15 minutes duration during each treatment session. Exposure to the BLU-U light is safe and not painful.

Microdermabrasion is a skin resurfacing procedure that stimulates the production of new cells and collagen. Treatments will effectively treat acne scars and fine lines. Microdermabrasion improves the appearance of:

About the Treatment
Microdermabrasion is a quick, painless exfoliation procedure that may be combined with a chemical peel to increase the results.
Number of Treatments Required
Each treatment takes approximately 30 minutes. A treatment course is tailored to your individual treatment plan.
What to Avoid
Avoid the following before, during and after a microdermabrasion treatment:
- Discontinue use of all products containing Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA).
- Use products with sunscreen (minimum SPF 15), 10 days prior to and after treatment.
- Discontinue waxing. Male clients should shave the morning of the treatment.
- Do not use cosmetics such as foundation or blush for 2 days after treatment.
- Do not use oil based moisturizers, use only oil free.
Who may not be a Candidate
The following patients may not be candidates for microdermabrasion treatments:
- Patients who have taken Accutane within the last six months.
- Patients who have active cold sores. Clients with a history of cold sores should take medication prior to treatment. Please notify staff of history of cold sores.
- Patients with rosacea vascular lesions, dermatitis, oral skin cancer or keloid scars.
- Patients with Lupus, uncontrolled diabetes, and clients who are on blood thinners.
After Care and Possible Side Effects
Some clients may experience a windburn sensation or slight redness lasting from a few hours up to 2 days. Most clients have no symptoms and can return to work immediately. Rare side effects include the possibility of infection and skin discoloration.

Chemical peels are facial exfoliants that improve skin tone and texture. A chemical peel is a clinical resurfacing procedure that improves acne, fine lines, uneven pigment and moisture retention. The fundamental function is to dissolve the dead cells on the surface of the skin. By exfoliating blocked pores and dull skin, the results reveal smoother healthier skin.

About the Treatment
During treatment, a chemical peel solution is applied to the skin and remains on for 1 - 5 minutes. Clients usually note a burning sensation, similiar to a sunburn. Immediately after the peel, the skin may be red and blotchy, slightly raised, tight and shiny, and/or feel sensitive. These are all normal reactions to the peel. Flaking and redness in some areas may occur for up to 1 week.
Number of Treatments Required
Generally, multiple peels are necessary. After the first treatment, skin will have a rejuvenated appearance. Long term results are maximized with a combination of home care products and proper skin care routines.
What to Avoid
- Do not use foundations or cover up for at least 48 hours after the peel. Using these products will irritate the skin, plug pores and create acne.
- Do not use any exfoliant creams or washes for 1 week.
- Retin A products should not be used one week prior to and after the procedure.
- In the week following the peel, patients should take care to wash and dry their skin gently. Oil free, non comedogenic moisturizer should be applied several times a day.
- Patients should avoid the sun and apply an oil free, non comedogenic facial sunscreen if outdoors.
Who may not be a Candidate
- Patients allergic to aspirin, salicylic or glycolic acid
After Care and Possible Side Effects
Patients can generally resume their home skin care routine two to three days after the peel, provided that there is no residual redness.
